I provide individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in working with members of the Deaf community and the LGBTQ+ community, with an emphasis on intersectionality and cross-cultural issues. My theoretical approaches include Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and Child-Centered Play therapy.
I am also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and in Mandarin Chinese. As a first-generation Asian-American born to immigrant parents, a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and an advocate for the Deaf community, I believe that an individual's cultures and communities are key factors in their self-actualization.
I am a masters level Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey, credentialed by the State Board of Marriage and Family Therapy Examiners. I have been working in the field of counseling since 2004 in both educational and mental health settings.
I hold a Masters of Arts in Psychology from Teachers College Columbia University (2014), a Masters of Arts in School Counseling and Guidance from Gallaudet University (2003) and a Bachelor of Arts Psychology from McGill University (2000).
